This morning we looked through a kaleidoscope and read a poem about a magical telescope.
Chloe
I invented a special telescope
That could see anything
As I peer through
I see my future coming
Past all my problems
And school.
Me standing, looking, having fun
Fountains sparkling like fresh lemonade
Horses galloping
The sun reflecting on the green house.
I turn my telescope
More to see
As I see a girl
Staring at me
I think it could
Be me.
Ruby
I invented a telescope
It let me see anything
Everything seemed so clean.
I peered through my telescope
I leaned to the beyond
I saw a waterfall glistening
In the sun.
Dreams from everywhere came to the beyond
Stars, milky ways and planets.
I saw tropical fish
Tropical waters
With shimmering scales
I saw the beyond.
The Beyond
Amelia
I invented a special telescope
That lets me see into the beyond
Past all my problems
And putting them behind me.
I took my telescope to the top of a mountain
And peered through to see what I could see
Me playing in a waterfall
Trickling down my back.
I turn my telescope
Colours changing, spiraling down
Clouds floating past
Mountains blanketed with crisp, white snow.
Flashing colours all around
Flowers blooming in every direction
Grass swaying gently in the breeze.
The Thirty Seventh Dimension
Adam
I found a magic telescope
That could see through many stones
Once I peered down the slender eyehole
And discovered the unknown.
Behind the cliff of Egyptian stone
A land of magic hid
Where colours turned and tumbled
In rolling hills of fear.
Further through this vibrant village
Floating isles hovered
Above a void of nothingness
Or that's what it seemed to be.
Turning up towards the sky
Unknown species migrate
Waiting for the dim moonlight
From the thirty seventh dimension.
The Telescope
Finn
I invented a telescope
One that could see round the world
I took it to the wide open field
So I could see a castle
Standing tall and thick with moldy stone brick.
I'm wondering if there is treasure inside
I look a little to the right to see such a sight
Mountains and valleys
And in one open space
I see me.
Ngaire
Lightning bolts
Golden and shining
Dancing with my fears
Pushing them away
Spinning through the stars.
Rain,
As the clouds are struck
Fiercely
And they cry,
In despair,
Of their pain.
Trees
Crashing to the ground
As the air
Becomes green
With the falling leaves.
Waterfalls
Tumbling
White with foam
The waters churn
As I watch through my magic telescope.
