Leaf Madness

This morning leaves were hurtling everywhere as each person in Room 12 tried to get a hit!

They shoot up then slowly descend
Upon my head
But weapons ready and armed
I take revenge.

Swiftly I deliver a handful
Of those golden, bronze and red
Bombs onto his head.

More vessels slowly sail down
Floating on the current
Nobody will attack me
They don't dare.

 

 

An Endless Battle
Adam

A relentless group of soldiers
Come thundering through the trees
The heavy artillery backs them up
As the war of leaves proceeds.

Incessant fire continues
Through the morning sky
A chaotic battle of laughs and screams
Breaks the day's peace.

Exhausted warriors battle
Savagely indeed
A sudden halt and silence
Brings peace
For now at least.

Leaf Wars

Findlay

Dangerous scents of revenge fill the open air

Leaves eddy slowly to no one knows where

Screaming and laughter cracks imaginary glass

Exhilarating legs shunt golden leave aside.  

An army of leaf missiles

Shoot through the air

Children laying an ambush, to pelt others

With the dangerous leaf bombs.

With the puffing of breath and crackling of leaves

The war's called to a halt

It was not won

But nor was it lost.

Laughing children having fun
As everyone gets leaves tangled in their hair
We chase our friends around with handfuls of leaves
Trying to get them, before they get us
Leaves showering everywhere
Children squealing with excitement
Fun in the park
On an Autumn day.

Fear crawling up my back
Leaves splashing and bombing
In wet grass
Determined to strike.

Tumble over
Didn't give up
Looked into the sky
With weapons
For revenge.

Hurricanes of gold
Covering the ground with vivid colour
Pools of copper.

Gathering weapons
Taking revenge
Excitement, joyful
Ready to strike.

As the laughter fades
Leaves hang in the air
Twisting and tumbling
Piled in the golden light.
