Today Ruairi suggested that we watched the following youtube clip:

We thought it was a really good impression of David Attenborough's voice from his nature programmes. There was heaps of scientific vocabulary in it. Since it is a huge goal in our class to expand our vocabulary here are the words we found...

  • habitat
  • diminishing
  • vibration
  • extinct
  • population
  • predator
  • prolific
  • colony
  • descent / ascent
  • settlement
  • sightings
  • solitary
  • declined
  • migrate
  • disguise
  • species

We also talked for a while this morning about yesterday's crazy weather. We described it as...

  • torrential
  • incessant
  • drenched
  • relentless
  • splashing
  • heavy
  • non-stop
  • soaked
  • saturated
  • pelting
  • scary
  • bombing
  • overflowing
  • flooding
  • freezing
  • puddle jumping
  • cabin fever
  • monsoon

How great is our vocabulary becoming?!
