Philosophy is a love of wisdom. This morning we talked about Socrates and how he said he knew nothing, but he meant that he couldn't prove anything. Room 12 came up with lots of things that we thought we could prove but when we thought about it, we actually couldn't prove anything. So then, we figured out what he meant by saying he knew nothing.
Today we had a FANTASTIC discussion about what we thought were the top 10 most courageous
jobs. We came up with lots of ideas and narrowed it down to ten. Our list was...
1. Doctor / Pediatrician
2. Army soldier
3. Heart surgeon
4. Pilot
5. Astronaut
6. President / Prime minister
7. Vet
8. Policeman
9. Fire fighter
10. Rugby player
We made the pediatrician / Doctor the most courageous because they deal with sick babies and children and also their life and future.
We made the Rugby player the least courageous because they don't actually need that much bravery and can choose to be it or not. We think most jobs that need courage have a lot of pressure and major responsibilities.
That is the end of our philosophy news.

I really enjoyed having a class discussion about philosophy and Socrates!
