Science with Anna

We have been doing science with Anna (Sam D's mum)

We made a geyser with a packet of mentos and diet coke.

It didn't go very high because we couldn't get all the mentos in quickly enough.

Then we came inside and used

1Tsp of yeast

4Tsp warm water

1Tsp detergent

1/2 a cup of 6% peroxide

We added the yeast and water into one container, then the detergent and peroxide into a bottle. We put a funnel in the bottle and tipped the yeast and water mixture into that, took the funnel out and STEPPED BACK!

This caused LOTS of bubbling and made "Elephants' Toothpaste"!

We look forward to making glow in the dark ice cubes, making electricity from potatoes, making invisible  ink and isolating DNA from bananas over the next few weeks with Anna.
