The Storm
Catherine
Anger rolls above
Ominous clouds swallow the sun.
The winging voice of the wind
Tells me it's here
And warns me.
Torrential rain
Going wild, flooding the gutters
On the roofs.
Lightning strikes the land
Cutting powerlines
Turning the city pitch black
Like the depths of the sea.
The Loss
Conal
The shimmering misty sky
Lingering around
Ready to strike
The warning.
Dark, ominous clouds
Hanging
Over the mountain tops
Waiting, waiting.
Wind rushes into the terraces of the poor
The breaking clouds split
Waves of torrential rain
Strike.
Losing his temper
The god of the sky
Releases
His lightning.
Forking through the sky
Ripping up every sign of life
Letting anger take over.
Wind
Rosie
Wind whistling
Whining impatiently
Temper rising
Waiting for its master's orders
Hungrily licking its moist, wet lips.
Howling wind
Invading the winding terraces
Fury bubbling up inside it
Blasts of water plunge wildly to the ground.
Flooding through the terraces
Slashing shop windows
Tearing through the land
Seizing anything that stands in its way.
A street light flickers
Faintly...
The Storm
Max
Deep black clouds
Lingering in the hills
An ominous shadow.
Bullets of water shooting down
Electric knives from Zeus
Breakwaters guard the land
Struggling to fight the invaders
Only just winning.
Windy warriors on horse back
Galloping from the sky
Trampling trees, dislodging rocks
Will it ever end?

Electric knives from Zeus

The Storm
Lydia
Dark clouds are rolling in
Looking over the land
Lingering, waiting for revenge.
The rain is bucketing down
And ricocheting off the roof tops
The clouds don't want to stop.
Next comes the sparks of lightning
Throwing itself down on the land
It yells and shrieks filling the land
With terror.
Wind is howling through the land
Rustling through the leaves
Knocking off bricks from old houses
The storm retreating
Leaving the land with nothingness.
One of my favourite subjects at school is poetry! I loved all of these wonderful poems and especially liked Lydia's poem!
