Outdoor Education

This afternoon Mark, an experienced outdoors person, came in to talk to us about staying safe in the outdoors as we prepare for camp. We discussed what we need to take with us when we go into the outdoors - things like a woolen hat, water, food and a waterproof jacket.
We talked about making sure at least two different people know what plans we have before we head out.
We had to observe other people very carefully to ensure we followed a given route.

S       stop
T      think
O     observe
P      plan

Ruairi spends a lot of time at Castle Hill and is quite an expert on surviving in the outdoors!

We are really lucky to have so many outdoor opportunities on our doorsteps here in Christchurch. Our camp promises to be full of outdoor excitement! I can't wait for September 10th!
