Glowing Drinks

This afternoon Anna Chapman came and visited our room again to do another cool science experiment.

Materials
lemonade
tonic water and ice cubes
dish washing liquid
black light scanner
highlighter ink

First we had to use the black light scanner to see if the tonic water made a blue light. It did so we squeezed the highlighter ink into the bottle so that it glowed.

Check out the pics below!

Anna showed us the black light scanner

This shows the different levels of light - we were trying to make the purple measurement next to the UVA

This is the tonic water and ice cube with the wires connecting the black light scanner

Check out our glowing tonic water!

These blue lights show the black light scanner on paper

We love having Anna come in to do exciting experiments. Today's was cool because:
"It showed all the sugar that tonic water has."
"We actually got to make water glow!"
